This was the first card I made with this set and I had so much fun with it. I immediately knew what I would change when making another card but I still really like how this one turned out.
The pull tab from the Let’s Toast add on was a must for this cute alien beaming up the cake! And I added acetate to the spaceship window for an extra touch.
I was excited to make a galaxy sky for the first time. The distress inks I used were Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. At the end I lightly went over the colors with Black Soot and I don’t think I would do that again because it dulled it down more than I expected, and I wanted the colors to be a little more vibrant. But it’s still not a bad look. After the ink was blended I flicked on some specks of Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn and I LOVED the look it created for stars in the sky. I love anything that shines or sparkles so that product was a must for me.
The planet was created with a Simple Stitched Hillside and some circle dies to make it look like craters – a detail I really enjoyed. I blended some Pumice Stone ink on Fog cardstock from Simon Says Stamp for the look. Next time I would add some speckles to the planet for a little more texture.
The card border was also made with Fog cardstock and I like having that finished edge. I was excited that this was my first space themed card and I was really happy overall with how it turned out!
