It didn’t take long for me to make another card with this set! This time I added a treasure map border:
I’m much happier with how improved this card is even from the one I just made last month. The sand and waves have ink blended on the edges to give them more dimension and the treasure map border adds extra interest. I also used a glitter pen on the treasure, but it doesn’t show up well in photos.
The layers of this card are:
-Kraft cardstock from Lawn Fawn for the base, with images from Ahoy Matey from Lawn Fawn stamped on it with Vintage Photo ink. The dotted lines are from the Beam Me Up stamp set from Lawn Fawn. Then some Vintage Photo ink was blended over it unevenly to give it the aged look. I used a corner punch to round the edges.
-The clouds were made with the Cloudy Stencil from Lawn Fawn and Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink.
-The sentiment was heat embossed with white on Black Licorice cardstock from Lawn Fawn and cut with an Everyday Sentiment Banner from Lawn Fawn.
-The waves were cut with Simple Wavy Borders from Lawn Fawn and ink blended with Salty Ocean, a little Broken China, and then Chipped Sapphire on the edges.
-The Palm Trees are from Lawn Fawn and were ink blended with Mowed Lawn and Ground Coffee.
-All the stamped images are from Ahoy Matey and were colored with Copic markers.
-The sand was cut with Stitched Hillside Borders and ink blended with Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, and then some Vintage Photo on the edges. Then I used the Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer and added specks with Copic markers E13 and E35. Then I used Sandy Accents from Lawn Fawn to cut places to tuck in the different items.
I have many more variations on this card that I still want to make in the future!
