With the current stay-at-home measures in place, I’ve had a lot more time for card making. This card came from having time to just make a scene that I pictured, without having a holiday or specific purpose in mind.
I wish that I had a few more colors of distress inks so that I could have shaded the edges of the grass. I think that would have helped add dimension between the layers. I also think the tree blends in with the background a little too much, and maybe it would’ve been better to not have the city directly behind that part of the card.
The ink blended sky turned out better than I expected, so I’m happy with that. I wasn’t thrilled with how the card was looking for awhile but adding the glitter drops at the end for stars made me like it a little more.
My favorite thing about this card is the tree. I tried hard to color the bark with distress ink and copic markers to give it dimension, but again, I just think I don’t have the right colors yet to make anything show up. I do like how the leaves and flowers look though. I’d like to make this tree and hillside set up again, with other new elements added in.
