I’ve made a couple of these cards lately, and since it was the first time I was using the Magic Picture Changer die I decided to make the exact sample card that Lawn Fawn made. I think it’s a cute sentiment that is super versatile. I’ve already shared other cards I’ve made with that adorable sun and rainbow; I really love that stamp.
I learned that you need to use very sturdy cardstock for this die. The best results I got were with some Strathmore watercolor paper that was 140 lb paper. I tried it with thinner cardstock and the mechanism didn’t work. As I tried to push the tab back in, it would bend in on itself and not be strong enough to stay straight. I thought the paper I used that time was 110 lb but I find it hard to believe that that paper weight wouldn’t hold up, so now I’m questioning if that paper is what I thought it was. Either way, the sturdier paper was a must in this case.
I’ve tried this with different pull tab ends, and I have to say, I like the “Pull” word the best by far. Adding that tiny piece of paper to the empty space of the P at the end was very satisfying, and I just love how clearly the word came out.
I’m looking forward to getting creative with some other stamp sets and this die. 🙂
