Hello and welcome! For my very first post I wanted to show off a card I recently made with the Jump For Joy stamp set by Lawn Fawn.
I’m fairly new to card making but Lawn Fawn quickly became my #1 favorite crafting company. The style of all their cute creatures exactly matches my personal style preference for my cards, so right away I liked basically everything they had to offer. And every time I watch one of their videos and hear the genuine enthusiasm they have for their products, it just makes me want to be friends with all of them. So I will probably be posting a lot of Lawn Fawn cards here in the future. ☺️
For this card I started out by blending two distress oxide inks on watercolor paper to make the sky background. I used Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass. I then used the Windy Backdrop to add texture to the sky and I absolutely LOVE how that turned out. The Windy Backdrop is my current favorite die because I think it just adds so much interest in a nice and subtle way.
I then cut the Leafy Tree Background (landscape) from Ground Coffee cardstock and a Stitched Hillside Border from Noble Fir cardstock, and layered them against the sky to set the scene. The leaves on the tree are from the Leafy Tree Background die and are cut from Fake Tan, Chili Pepper, and Ground Coffee cardstocks (plus some green paper I’ve had laying around for years.) I stamped and cut the fox, hedgehog, and pile of leaves from the Jump For Joy set and colored them with Zig markers. I popped the hedgehog up with some foam tape, and that was it!
This card was for some friends who recently had a baby and I love that it can be versatile for any happy occasion. I’m looking forward to sharing more cards here soon!
