Umbrella Trio

This card holds the title of my current favorite card I’ve ever made:

It was actually the very first shaker card I’ve ever made. I wasn’t very interested in shaker cards until I tried it, and now I see how much fun they are! I could see someone receiving this card who’s maybe going through a hard time, and having that tiny extra element bring a smile to their face.

I also really enjoyed the simplicity of this card. With scene cards, I’m still trying to improve my coloring and ink blending and all kinds of things. But this card just had one main focal point, and I loved it. I found it fun to put all the detail into one single thing, with the twine and sequins. I still love scene cards, but I’m going to make a point to make more simple cards in the future too.

I liked this card so much that I made two more similar ones!

I used Glossy Accents on the yellow one and I think it’s such a cute look. Although try as I might to avoid it, I still ended up with a few teeny tiny bubbles on the umbrella from the gloss. Oh well!

The blue version is my favorite of the three, but I really like them all. I’ll be glad to have these to send the next time someone is in need, or even just as an anytime card.
