Years ago I owned the “I Love You(calyptus)” stamp set but I remember selling it because I thought it was too hard to color. 😆 In the early stages of making cards it definitely was challenging to color things that had a bigger area where you had to add in the depth yourself, like a balloon. I think part of that was because I probably didn’t have many marker colors yet either, so trying to color a bigger area and add shadows and dimension correctly didn’t go very well and didn’t look good.
Fast forward to this year and I purchased the flip flop version of that stamp set that someone was selling used. I wanted to make a card with 2 koalas like this, so then I re-purchased the original stamp set – which was a little harder to do because now that set is retired and not sold everywhere anymore. But I found it, and I’m so glad to have it again because now I do have better skills and more markers to actually make it look cute.
I knew I wanted the sentiment to be “You are koalafied to party” but I didn’t have all of those words on my stamps exactly. I used “You are koalafied” from the flip flop stamp, “to” from the beginning of the word “toucan” from the Toucan Do It stamp set, and “party” from Rawrsome. Anytime I need to piece together a sentiment like that I always make sure the words are all in the same font, so it took a little extra time to find all the right words but it came together nicely.
Then, the very day I was working on this card, I just happened to find someone else selling an old Lawn Fawn birthday stamp that came with that exact sentiment, “koalafied to party.” I actually used to have the stamp but didn’t have it anymore, and I had never owned the coordinating sentiment, so I was so thrilled to find it! It was even on my actual birthday too, so that made it even sweeter. Now I’m looking forward to making another card with these stamps and the matching sentiment, but it’s good to know that anyone can create it with those other stamps too.
