This year I received a fun birthday card in the mail from Suzie Thomas in our Lawn Fawn group. I just kept looking at it and finally had to recreate it with my own version.

One of my favorite things about her card was that she stamped the images in black and then clear heat embossed the lines, so all the black lines had this beautiful shine and 3D raised texture to them. I literally could not stop looking at them and feeling the raised texture; it added such a great effect to the card. I think that was one of the main reasons I wanted to recreate her design, just to finally try that technique for myself. It was difficult to capture in a picture but in person the effect was just as pretty as I had hoped:

I also used glossy accents on the glasses and lens of the camera like she did and it was a good addition, although mine had some bubbles.
Here is her original card on top along with my recreation on bottom:

I made 2 cards at once and I really love the patterned paper in the background. I used free samples for these cards and then ended up buying some because I liked it so much.

Thank you Susie for the inspiration!
