Easter Cards: Lessons Learned

And now for two cards that didn’t turn out quite how I planned:

I kept trying to find a good mat for this one but nothing seemed right. I used shimmer cardstock as the mat and I can’t tell if something else would’ve worked better or not. I’m also still a little wary of using my white paint pen for accent marks but I always want to. I just ordered a couple new ones so hopefully I’ll be back in business soon.

This card could really use more added to it but I wasn’t sure how to do it with the egg opening. I also should’ve cut out the Easter egg shape first and then embossed afterwards so that the embossing didn’t get smushed down, but I was worried about getting the egg opening lined up correctly with the card base. I could’ve traced out where it should go though and that would’ve solved the problem. Next time!
