This card was a journey for me. I saw a card online that used the Offset Sayings Christmas stamp in the intended way, where you stamp the outline of the letters in black and then stamp the filled in version just a little bit offset in a color, so that it ends up looking like a drop shadow effect. They had stamped each offset letter in a different color and it looked so good that it made me want to try it, even though that’s much more work than just stamping it all in one color. I’ve never used that stamp to make the drop shadow look before and I thought, why don’t I challenge myself? The only way to improve your skills is to keep trying new things so I decided to go for it.
It did not go well. 😄

In hindsight I definitely should have put the stamp in my MISTI, masked off the letters one by one, and stamped them that way so that they would be sure to be even and I could use a different color each time. I don’t know why I thought it would be easy to line them up freehand but it was not. 😄
I ended up covering that attempt with a sentiment banner and just stamping the outline of the letters and coloring them in with copics. Maybe someday I’ll attempt this again with the MISTI and get it right, but for now I’ll skip the challenge.
