Garden Snail

I remade this design by Grace because I thought it was cute. I really liked how she used the Plaid Stencils to create just a striped design in the background.

I made 2 cards trying out different inks. The first one uses Lawn Fawn inks for the background (Ballet Slippers, Guava, Minty Fresh):

The second one uses distress oxide inks (Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries, Salvaged Patina):

Here’s a comparison of the two. The Lawn Fawn inks card is on top and the distress oxide inks card is on bottom:

I like the lighter inks better for this version but I would love to see what other color combinations look like too. Here is the ink to Grace’s original card: https://blog.lawnfawn.com/2025/02/graces-happy-mail-valentine-card/

It took much more thought than it should have for me to recreate the striped background so here are the steps for future reference:

Stencil the big stripes and medium stripes with light pink
Line up the little stripes over the big pink stripes and stencil them with dark pink
Line up the little stripes into the empty spaces and stencil them with mint
