I had an idea for this card all sketched out, with the coffee cart and the ice rink, and then Grace posted a card with the very same type of scene, only flipped. I ended up using her layout and recreating some of her design ideas but it was nice to know that I had been able to come up with the same scene on my own, since that’s something I find challenging. And I added my own twists too, like making the ice rink shiny and adding glossy accents to the bulbs. I think it’s a beautiful scene and it makes me want to be there in person.

I made 3 of these at the same time and it was quite a project. If I remember correctly it took about an hour and 40 minutes just to die cut everything for all 3 cards. But I love the end result.
Here is Grace’s version of this card: https://blog.lawnfawn.com/2024/10/a-beautiful-winter-scene-with-grace/
To make my ice rink shiny I took a piece of cardstock, put some Versamark Dazzle embossing ink on it, coated it with Distress Embossing Glaze in Speckled Egg, and heated it up. I absolutely love that technique for making the look of ice on a card.
