Whoosh, Kites!

There’s something about this little mouse image that has become one of my favorites ever. I’m not even someone who goes crazy for the mice stamps, and there is a similar mouse in the You Autumn Know set that is jumping, but for some reason I really like this particular mouse just standing in this happy pose. I didn’t buy this set when it initially came out but after seeing a design like this by Mindy I started liking it more and more.

This was my first time trying out the coloring stencils. I really wanted to love them but they might take some getting used to. It was hard to have as much control over the final look because shading was more difficult using a blending tool. And even though I have a lot of ink colors it’s nowhere near the amount of color choices I have with markers. So we’ll see.

This was also (I think) my first time stamping my images in River Rock ink. I received a card like this and had to try it because I loved the soft look it gave everything. I will definitely be doing this on future cards whenever it seems right because I really like the different feel it gives.

I want to make this card again with different colors, probably using markers next time. The sparkles don’t show up much in the picture but in real life they add just the right amount of extra interest. I think this can be a perfect anytime card.
