Canvas & Easel

I recreated this design by Grace and it’s one of my new all time favorite cards:

I just can’t get enough of the bright colors and the texture in the woodgrain, especially on that tiny cute palette, and the gloss on the paint, and of course the fun interactive element. There were definitely many steps to creating this card (especially because I made 2 at once) but it was well worth the effort. I already want to make more because I’ve already mailed these out and I’d like to have one around just to look at for myself, haha! And I think it would be a little faster the second time around. So, so fun!

One tip: I think the photos above show the perfect placement for the Magic Picture Changer, with the pull tab sticking out past the card base just enough to get a hold on it. I had to put the card in a 5×7 envelope since it wouldn’t fit in a standard A2 one, but next time I would just create a custom envelope for it to be the exact right size. When I made the second card the mechanism ended up a little lower on the card and I had to use foam tape to pop it up and give space underneath for the pull tab to be grabbed, which then meant other things on the card had to be popped up to match, and it made it more difficult. The first version shown above had a cleaner look and was less bulky.

I took this picture with the grid on my craft mat for an easier reference point for about where exactly to place the Magic Picture Changer:
