Word Buddies Woodland with Marie
That is a link to this beautiful card I saw that I wanted to try and recreate. I was intrigued by the idea of using watercolor pencils because I never had before, so I set out to give it a try.

I thought this rainbow die would be an easy way to start because it didn’t require precision, but I underestimated how hard it would still be to learn how to use a new tool for coloring. I didn’t take a picture of my first attempt but it was bad. I was trying to go for this soft color look and somehow still ended up with too much color. I also didn’t want to pay a ton for a huge set of watercolor pencils without knowing if I would like them, so I used a small set that didn’t have many color choices and it made everything look too much like a bold coloring book. This was my second attempt and it went better, but I definitely still need lots of practice.
My goal is to be able to do no line coloring on critters but I think I’m due for a lot of practice before I’m able to produce anything that looks good on that front.
