This card was a journey. I first saw this design by Dana Kirby online a YEAR ago. I liked it and always wanted to make it but I searched and couldn’t find that many other cards created with the set. I try not to purchase things unless I can see using them in multiple ways because it was only last year (I think) that I finally had used or sold every item in my craft room. I love that I use and enjoy everything I have now and I’m protective about adding anything new unless I’m sure about it. I’m also someone who relies on design teams a LOT – I prefer to recreate designs that I see and like rather than try to come up with my own. So when there aren’t examples out there for a set, I tend to not buy them.
(Side note for companies and design teams: keep incorporating your old sets into your cards! There are some companies now who come out with a new release and all of their card examples use only items from that release. And then a couple months later they have another release and you never see the previous products again. That has made me stop buying their products because I know if I do I’ll only ever have a few cards to make with them, and then I’ll never again get inspiration from the design team cards. And it also feels kind of icky as a customer, like they only want to sell me things over and over instead of offering products that they themselves will continue to use.)
Anyways. For an entire year I kept looking at this card and liking it, and finally I decided that if this much time had passed and I still really wanted to make that card, that it was worth the purchase. Pretty Pink Posh didn’t even have the set in stock anymore but I was able to find another company that did, and then finally I was able to fulfill my card dreams! Haha.
I made 3 identical cards right away and I just love them. I made them in the 4 Bar size, which is the size of an index card, smaller than a standard card. Something about that slightly tiny size just makes this so cute and perfect. It’s great for an “anytime” card to send to someone just because. This card was definitely an instant favorite of mine!
