First Foiled Card

The shine of the foil can be seen in the video on my Instagram! It really takes this simple card and adds an extra level of fun to it.

This was my first card ever using foil. I did not like the idea of purchasing a foil machine and then having to spend $40 on a single hot foil plate for just one design, and having to spend that any time I wanted another foil design. (Not to mention always being limited to only whatever designs that companies came out with to sell.) So instead, I drew my own design in Adobe Illustrator. Since this was my first time ever trying this technique I used Lawn Fawn’s cloud design to model mine after, and that helped. I printed the design with a laser printer and then used a laminator to add the foil. And it came out perfectly!

Now I can create any design I want and print it in foil, and it’s basically free, without having to buy expensive plates. It’s great!
